I always get excited about fall!

Thanksgiving is right around the corner so it’s a good idea to prep ahead, especially when it comes to decor.

If seasonal decorating seems out of your budget, I have some excellent, budget-friendly options for decor, as well as DIY Thanksgiving ideas that might do the trick.

And of course, my favorite cheap Thanksgiving decorations will always look stunning and elegant. 😉

Thanksgiving Decorating Tips

Decorating for Thanksgiving is similar to fall decorating – in that you use the warmer colors and natural textures – but there are also a few things specific to the month of November that are fun to play with in your decor.

When should I start decorating for Thanksgiving?

I would encourage you to decorate for fall as early as the beginning of September and then add your “Thanksgiving” elements after Halloween.

How do you decorate for Thanksgiving?

Begin by decorating with basic fall elements – like I discuss in this post.

Then, add a few “Thanksgiving” specific items (like those listed below) to your decor around the beginning of November.
