Let your guests know where to sit at your holiday table by creating classy trees for Christmas name place holders out of corks and faux greenery!
When it comes to setting the table for Christmas, I love adding fun name place holders.
There’s just something about having your name thought of and placed on the table that makes your presence at the table feel intentional!
Not only does it make your guests feel special, but Christmas name place holders also prevent chaos from happening when everyone goes to sit down.
You know what I mean – when everyone stands around the table trying to figure out where they’re sitting and then adjusting a bunch of times before they finally take a seat. 😉
Trust me, you’ll love the intimacy and order found in creating Christmas name place holders for your table!

Instructions for Making Christmas Name Place Holders:
STEP 1: PREP THE GREENERY
Start by pulling the individual pieces of greenery off the pick.
Then, use your wire cutters to cut most of the stem off – only leaving about 1/4″ at the bottom.
STEP 2: PRESS INTO THE CORK
Push the 1/4″ stem into the top of your cork where it already has a hole in it from the corkscrew.
Your tree is now complete – time to move onto the tag.

STEP 3: CREATE STAMPED NAME TAG
Cut a 1″x2″ piece out of your white card stock and punch a hole in one end.
Using your letter stamps, stamp the name of your guest onto the tag.
In case you’re wondering, Chris is my husband’s name. 😉
STEP 4: TIE YOUR NAME TAG TO THE TREE
Lastly, thread ribbon through your name tag and tie a knot about 1″ from the tag.
Thread your tag over the cork and cut off the access ribbon after the knot.
And that’s it! You now have festive, beautiful Christmas name place holders for your table.
I love the cork stem on these trees – it add such a fun natural element. Seriously, these DIY name place holders are so easy to make and end up looking really stylish!
These cork trees could easily be used without a name tag for simple winter decor throughout the next few months too. 🙂
As promised, here are the printable instructions:
- Pull the individual stems of greenery off of your greenery picks.
- Use the wire cutters to trim the bottom, only leaving about 1/4" of stem.
- Press the 1/4" stem into the top of a cork.
- Create a stamped name tag by cutting a 1"x2" piece of cardstock, hole punching one end, and stamping the name of your guest onto one side.
- Tie a small loop of ribbon through the hole by knotting it about 1" above the tag and trim off the excess.
- Thread your tag over the greenery and let it hang at the base of the stem, just above the cork.
