Have fun with this easy pumpkin decorating idea! Give your pumpkins a faux marble look by dipping them in nail polish. These pumpkins are a trendy addition to any style of fall decor!
I’m so excited to share this DIY tutorial with you! My mom gave me the idea a few weeks back, and I finally decided to give it a shot. Seriously friends, the results are SO FUN! As I mentioned in my fall living room tour, we grew A LOT of white pumpkins in our garden this year, so this was the perfect project to use up some of the left over ones. These pumpkins are such a creative update to the typical fall decor. I hope you enjoy this tutorial, and as always, let me know if you have any questions!

Instructions for Pumpkin Decorating
STEP 1: PREP WATER
Fill your large bowl about 3/4 of the way with water and let it sit out for 24 hours to get to room-temperature.
STEP 2: ADD NAIL POLISH
Pour a few drops of nail polish into your water until it covers the top of the water. If your nail polish sinks to the bottom, try adjusting the temperature slightly.
STEP 3: DIP YOUR PUMPKIN
Hold your pumpkin by the stem and gently place it into the water. The nail polish from the top of the water should stick to the pumpkin. Give your pumpkin a small swirl to break it free from the nail polish layer and pull it out of the water.
Set it on cardboard or construction paper and let dry for 30 minutes.
STEP 4: CLEAN YOUR BOWL
The last step to this project is cleaning the nail polish residue out of your bowl. You’ll want to do this immediately in order to keep the ruining your bowl.
Soak a paper towel or sponge in nail polish remover and wipe all of the left-over nail polish off.
I ended up placing mine in my dining room. I love how it adds a touch of fall to my somewhat modern decor in the space! ๐
So easy, right?! What I love most about this project is you can fully customize it! From the size of the pumpkin, to the color of the polish, to the angle and amount of the pumpkin you paint – it’s all up to you!
I’d love to see how yours turn out, so be sure to tag me on social media! Have a wonderful day, friends. ๐
How fun Rachel! I wonder if you could use multiple layers of color?
