Good morning, friends! One thing I’ve seen other interior design bloggers do, that I love, is real life home tours. In fact, it’s those tours that convince me to actually follow other blogs… is that crazy? I just love the honesty behind them and their willingness to share what their real home looks like – with no staging at all. So, I figured I better do the same so you all can see what our home looks like in real life! I shot these photos in our home last weekend, after we had lunch and laid the kids down for nap. I didn’t do anything to tidy up before taking these pictures! This is reality in our home folks. I hope you still follow me after this… I’m just being real. 😉
Welcome to our home!
DINING ROOM / OFFICE
The first thing you walk into is our dining room where we recently installed a new chandelier and window seat. That cubby in the corner is really all we have for a desk/office space, so I’ve been primarily using the dining room table for my blogging. As you can see, we have the printer shoved in the corner with a draped cord, pillows are out of place, and there’s a bowl of popcorn (from 2 days ago?) on the table…
Next up we have the kitchen! Our long peninsula between the dining room and kitchen tends to be the landing spot for a lot of stuff. It’s rarely clean, unless we’re prepping for people to come over, in which case we hide everything in the garage or junk drawer. 😉
It’s not uncommon for us to leave pans on the stove a day or two… We’re good about washing the basic dishes in the dishwasher, but there’s something about hand-washing items that causes us to ignore them.
In the family room, you’ll find multiple pairs of shoes (including one pair on the table – not sure why…), pillows out of place, DVD’s left out, and a large construction set on the floor.
BTW – our dog Dahlia, is a fabulous model. Isn’t she beautiful? She’s sweet too!
Now on to the master bedroom. I’m going to be honest with all of you – we are REALLY BAD about making our bed… Honestly, we probably only make it once every two weeks!
I’m also really bad about closing my closet curtains…
Ok, are you ready for the kids’ rooms?… They were looking pretty crazy this day – Chris is usually good about helping them re-organize everything most evenings, but not sure what happened this week!
Well folks, there you have it. Our home – unfiltered! We are just like everyone else, we live comfortably in our home and then just clean before guests come over. 😉 I hope you’ve enjoyed our real life home tour, friends! Have a fabulous week!
