Looking for a fresh style in your outdoor space? Try these simple 5 updates for a fabulous new look on a budget.
Spring has finally arrived! Yay!! I really hope wherever you are that you’ve been able to enjoy the sun this week.
I’ve been spending most afternoons soakin’ it up on our back deck and playing with the kids. 🙂
There’s still rain in the forecast for later this week, but I know it won’t be long before we’ll be freshening up our outdoor space for the summer.
With that in mind, I wanted to share with you 5 of my favorite ways to freshen up the look of an outdoor space for less than $100 – which is pretty inexpensive when it comes to décor!
Enjoy, my friends!

1. Paint Your Furniture
Never under-estimate the power of paint.
Have neutral colored furniture? Try a bright color like lime green or pink.
Have bright colored furniture? Try a neutral like black or white.
Going from neutral to bold or visa versa will really change the look of your space.

2. Swap Out the Pillows
Changing out the pillows in your outdoor space is a really easy way to change the look.
I love to use bright, fun, patterned pillows on my deck, because the style is a bit playful, but even new neutral ones will make it feel like a new space to you.
I got the ones for my outdoor dining table for just $1/each at IKEA – which is nice because you don’t have to worry about them as much.
Also, outdoor pillows typically go on clearance in the fall, so you can grab a new round of them each year for super cheap!
3. Add an Outdoor Rug
Outdoor rugs are one of my absolute favorite things.
There’s something about the fact that it makes the outdoor space feel like a true extension of my home, rather than a separate place.
It also adds comfort (encouraging you to remove your shoes and stay awhile), and depending on the rug you get, can add a ton of character.
If most of your décor is neutral, try going bold with your rug.
4. Rearrange the Layout
One thing we did a few times last summer was try different layouts for our outdoor furniture.
Try swapping your dining space with your seating area or turn your seating area on an angle.
5. Add Greenery
Flower containers or large plants are a great way to freshen up a space.
Try a hanging plant, a pot of colorful flowers or a small tree!
Most importantly, have fun with it!
I DARE you to try something new. Trust me – you won’t regret it. 😉
As always, let me know if you have any questions.
