Chili cook-offs are such a fun way to bring a large group together for an interactive lunch! Try this fabulous recipe and download our free printable score cards to make your next chili cook-off a get-together to remember.

Not only do you get to enjoy all sorts of tasty chili at a chili cook-off, but you also get to chat and engage with lots of other people in the process. If you’re looking for something to do with a large group, I’d highly encourage you to try a chili cook-off.

I was recently chosen to be the social coordinator for our department at work and decided to do a chili cook-off for this month’s activity. Of course, to make it a legit competition, I’ve created scorecards, tags and ribbons. 😉 I would love for you to print and use them too!

In addition to the printables, I’m also sharing with you my favorite crockpot chili recipe. Chili is definitely a staple meal in my home. I love chili! Especially when it’s as easy as tossing it all in the crockpot and coming home to the sweet aroma of a cooked meal…

My step-mom gave me this recipe years ago and we’ve been making it at least monthly ever since. I hope you enjoy it as much as we do!

Crockpot Chili Recipe and Chili Cook-off Printables

  • 1 lb ground beef (browned)
  • 1 medium onion (chopped)
  • 1 clove garlic (minced)
  • 1 packet Chili seasoning
  • 1 can diced tomatoes and green chilies (Rotel is a popular brand)
  • 3 cans petite diced tomatoes
  • 1 can pinto beans (rinsed and drained)
  • 1 can red kidney beans (rinsed and drained)
  • 1 can black beans (rinsed and drained)
  • salt, pepper and chili powder to taste

Combine all ingredients in a crockpot or slow cooker and cook on low for 6-8 hours.
Serve with cheddar cheese, sour cream and corn bread or tortilla chips.

To host and/or coordinate a chili cook-off, simply assign teams to create, make, and submit a pot of chili and then let the participants rate each chili using my free downloadable scorecards. Add up all the scores at the end, and announce a winner!

I bet some participants will get rather competitive, making it even more fun! 😉

These printables are free to my newsletter subscribers, so when you join you’ll also get access to my entire library of FREE printables! If you’re already a subscriber, they are readily available for you in my printables library.

I’ve got a few other projects in the pipeline – Chris and I finished up our faux brick backsplash in the kitchen this last weekend, I’m just about done with my bread box turned charging station and I’m helping a friend with a DIY window roman shade this weekend!

Having this blog has really opened up my eyes to how many fun projects I do… I always knew I did a lot of crafting, but I seriously feel like I want to write a new blog post every day! Don’t hold me to that, of course, the Lord knows something will come up soon that will make me go two weeks between posts. 😉

Thanks for stopping by and I hope you have a wonderful week!
